You live in "Paris," you say. But is it Paris, France? Paristown in USA? Paris Hilton? pah... I know a Mr. Pynchon, who lives just down the road. Can you say that he isn't the novelist, or the sailor, or the man with the bag over his head?

If you can say it isn't, then you are mighty presumptuous, and I will wish to cease conversing.

Cold right now, but the weather is always very dry (as in, not humid). Housing is expensive, so I'm still living at dad's at 20 with a small promise of rent. Only cheap places are dozens of km out of town, in shitty rough places like Elizabeth, where I'm sure you'd just blow your money on petrol (if you have a car).

Every young person here shits on the place, but it's better than other cities. I'll compare it to Melbourne - it's better than there simply because the CBD isn't a massive, loud pseudfest. In fact, our city is a quiet, small, pleasant place but there's not that much to do. Drinking out is okay, lots of people go to Sugar or Exeter, but nearly everywhere is uneventful and expensive for what it is. I like Melbourne for its cheap, indie bookstores with huge range. But there's too much growth - heaps of homeless dudes with their dogs freezing on the street, while they spend a shit tonne on other shit like "gamer fests" for tweenagers.

However, our metro are anal here, most drivers try to throw you off if you don't pay, while no one even swipes their ticket in Melbourne. So, come here if you don't mind blowing your money on life's necessities, but don't want to live in a pseud hell-hole.

It's really up to your circumstances. Are you well-off with a career, or are you a studying babby 4channer like moi? Where you from? That might also change my answers.

If you can, try move to Kangaroo Island. There's no jobs there (just like any remote place) but it would be awesome to live on a property there. It's beautiful and pristine with a great history. I read pic related a month ago and really want to go visit when I have time. KI was the meeting place of both British and French explorers, so it was one of the last places in the world to be "explored' by the Europeans.

Can you work at home with your job? I'm envious coz I really wanna move somewhere remote too. If you don't like the idea of KI, I know people who live in Macclesfield/Meadows, and it's really nice there too.
