Hello again thread. I'm sure people are getting to know me by now. The agent who was so complimentary about my first draft, who compelled me to introduce a private detective character and give the story a redemptive ending, was really shitty about my second draft. Still too bleak, apparently. I spoke to an acquaintance from my newspaper days who went on to write bestsellers about it and she reviewed my first three chapters and gave me a lot of very valuable feedback. I'm now doing a lot of editing and a little bit of rewriting because I still have faith in the project.

I tried to get a job on upwork as a freelance editor and they turned me down because I'm fresh out of college with no relevant work experience. I can't even find a shitty side job to keep me eating while I work on writing. Honestly kill me.

I'm planning out a sort of trilogy, but it's all concepts and what not. I have the place, I have the conflict, and I sort of have the character, but for everything else, it's up to debate.

I have this issue where creating a rough draft is next to impossible because I keep going back to a previous section to fix something when I should continue on to actually forge the fucking story. And as of now, the only tangible story I have is an introduction sequence that's already obsolete because the MC's age and occupation changed.

Also I'm thinking of adding in a qt brown reverse trap

you're not responsible for your actions, Junot. Nature is responsible.

Well, I just had a screenplay rejected from a contest I entered it in. I suppose I was expecting it, but it's still annoying.

I do have a few poems and short stories out for submission right now. Hopefully I'll get something published. We'll see.
