Do you guys subscribe to a specific philosophy? I know you read philosophical texts but does that reflect into your life? I think stoicism is one of the more popular ones on here.

Stoicism is what the most fit with me
1. the universe is ordered and rational, therefore it has an intelligence behind it that also governs all things
2. that intelligence created us with the faculty of reason, which is superior to others and is the closest to the universal intelligence
3. since we have that reason, our goal in life is to use it and be a spectator of the nature or higher intelligence works
4. we should only care about what we have deciding power on, things from the exterior are neither good nor evil
5. our reason distinguishes what is wrong and right in our actions, and acting right is in consonance with the nature
6. since everyone has the divinity, I am also a cosmopolite
7. life is a big theater piece where we are born with roles and soon gone leaving everything behind

as a young man i desperately searched for an ideal. i read, debated, and applied a multitude of philosophies. what this lead to though was disillusionment. it was possible to choose a philosophy and live one's life in that matter, yet this did not always lead to me feeling fulfilled. even worse i sometimes began to feel inauthentic to myself. i discovered that your own self is a formed thing long before one begins to read philosophy be that due to your environment or genetic predispositions. though philosophy is a useful tool to arm yourself with, it should be handled more as a swiss army knife capable of providing you with methods of understanding, than some full body coat of arms to live your life by.

Not really. It's quite hard to agree completely with anything because I find I disagree with the specifics of the foundations of many a philosophy. Namely, its assumptions and rationalisation. I just take bits and pieces, and slowly develop my own personal philosophy, my own thinking.
