I have no problem's with female authors or readers per se, but women tend to unapologetically read trash to a higher degree.

In my undergrad English classes the only Pynchon readers were women. One recommended Gravity's Rainbow to me, another gave me M&D for my birthday. All the guys were pseuds who never read outside of class or Burkowski/DFW/King fanboys.
