Has anyone here published essays as an undergraduate?

I'm thinking of trying to get a few essays over Breece DJ Pancake and Gil Orlovitz published.

I'm going to write a biographical/interpretive essay about Gil Orlovitz as well as an analysis of Pancake's Trilobites.

I've gotten a short story published before, so i have that on my resume. They're going to be much more accessible than the ones i wrote for school.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Here's a forum about Gil Orlovvitz with some really good/obscure sources

Here's Pancake's short story "Trilobites."

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It's one of the best American short stories from the second half of the 20th century.

People are obessed with fiction here. But I am interested, though I have nothing to contribute.

I disagree. For years I was concerned with fiction. I've only lately considered essays as a legitimate medium of expression.

I know you're probably trolling, but either way i recommend reading Slouching Towrds Bethlehem by Joan Didion.

I probably thought like you did before reading that collection, but i really can be an incredible means of expression.
