do pagan-heraclitean-neoplatonic-alchemical renaissance scientists who write tracts on magic and symbolism that get them burned at the stakes do anything for you?

Cool. People usually make fun of alchemists with "they tried to find to turn led into gold lol dumb", but they had some interesting and cool ideas.

Yeah I've always been a fan of the broons

oddly enough he was executed by Roman authorities for nonviolent ideological crimes after being detained and tortured for a long period of time

he has a lot of parallels with the Christ he rejected

well, speaking for myself, i wish it was that simple. i used to really want to be very much like the people around me. i thought everybody else knew what they were doing and somehow i was the mutant and that there was something wrong with me.

so i read philosophy to figure out why. and, as it happened, the reading told me that i was doing and saying and thinking all kinds of ridiculous stuff that was really just stupid and narcissistic and historically deaf. that adventure kept going.

but eventually it got to a point where some thing also started to click and i realized, wow, no, everybody suffers from anxiety, or confusion, or bewilderment, in various ways, many of which are deeply personal. and there are all kinds of reasons for this, and lots of different ways to respond to it. in the present age, a lot of stuff happens for identitarian reasons, and these things eventually link up to politics, economics, history, and other things.

and so now i find myself on the outside looking in most of the time. part of me still wants to 'fit in' but i wonder how possible this is actually is. as people develop they become more different, not more alike. and at the same time philosophy and religious stuff seems to continually hint that, beneath the surface of this, there is a lot more similarity than difference, which is the really mysterious part. tat tvam asi and all. and because of that it's enjoyable to share writers or other things that you have discovered. for which /lit/ is the greatest.

especially since we live in such an inquisitorial age when everybody is so quick to jump down everyone else's throats for being a heretic. i personally think it's the age of the rage zombie right now. if you can be different but still friendly at the same time it's a good look.

Wrong. The majority of posters, yes. But there's a core of seriously read moderately old fags who hover above this board and strike when situations warrant. This place has always had enormous potential, and is frequently surprising, if not actually informative. That's just the truth.

>The central thesis of Bruno's moral philosophy is that the human organism is a system of contrary forces held together by the divine, central, unifying power and principle of "Intellectual Light," "called by some synderesis", here presented under the mythic form of an exiled Greek divinity named Momus, whom Jove has now decided to recall in order to execute a radical moral reform in the heavens. The full title of the dialogues is: The Expulsion of the Triumphant Beast proposed by Jove, Achieved by the Council, Revealed by Mercury, Narrated by Sophia, Heard by Gaulino, Recorded by the Nolan.

>The triumphant beast that is to be expelled from its privileged position beside the royal North Star of the heavens is Ursa Major, the Big Dipper; and with his expulsion there is to be a general housecleaning of the heavens ridding them of the whole galaxy of pagan constellations and the astrology over which they presided. In place of the scandals which these figures of the zodiac represented, a repentant Jove is enthroning new constellations of genuine virtues. Among them are: truth, peace, repentance, simplicity, diligence, humanity, philanthropy, sagacity, generosity, tolerance, friendship, and research. This new heaven is to preside over a reformed mankind, guided by the universal life of divine Intellectual Light. Such a radical judgment and purification is supposed to come every 36,000 years, when heaven and earth are periodically purged and renewed.

Farrel. Financial Vipers of Venice. Likely part of a larger network of reconstituted Templars successor organizations. Bruno's martyrdom at the hands of Rome is part of a culture and information war that resulted in the Renaissance, an intelligence asset of sorts killed for subversion/espionage.
