Humor thread.

this place is absolutely humourless. i challenge anyone to find a piece of lit history that's genuinely amusing, because i have not laughed a single time on this board in the 5+ years i've been browsing.

>liberal arts majors
How did this nonsensical term get so wildly popular on the internet?
The Liberal Arts started in medieval scholasticism as the subjects a 'free man' (hence 'libera') should know, including mathematics, rhetoric, etc. Today they refer to a type of educational institution, a 'liberal arts college', as distinguished from a research university.

The term you're looking for is 'humanities'. You can't major in a 'liberal art'. That's like saying 'research major'.
