The city of new york is truly a melting pot, thrives economically, brings in some hugely disproportionate amount of state income. city ends up paying for all the fucking down-n-out hamplanets upstate. upstaters hate the city for all the things that make it great. and yet, the city puts food in their mouth, keeps them alive long enough to vote on lawmakers and policies that harm the city. so now apply this dynamic but with NY/CA vs pretty much every place in between, except for maybe a few other hubs that haven’t been poisoned both mentally and physically by wealthy republicans.
