Any good literature about someone who's trapped in a psychological corner because of their own views on society/ society's views on them? Notes From the Underground is a prime example but I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing about that one.

All of Houellebec, obviously
>You too, you took an interest in the world. That was long ago. I want you to cast your mind back to then. The domain of the rules was no longer enough for you; you were unable to love any longer in the domain of the rules; so you had to enter into the domain of the struggle. I ask you to go back to that precise moment. It was long ago, no? Cast your mind back: the water was cold.
You are far from the edge, now. Oh yes! How far from the edge you are! You long believed in the existence of another shore; such is no longer the case. You go on swimming, though, and every movement you make brings you closer to drowning. You are suffocating, your lungs are on fire. The water seems colder and colder to you, more and more galling. You aren't that young anymore. Now you are going to die. Don't worry. I am here. I won't let you sink. Go on with your reading.

I'm only halfway done with pic related but it's almost scary how much I'm able to relate to it, so definitely this.

Hartmut Lange's Positive Nihilism. More a personal confrontation with Heidegger's philosophy disguised as a brutally pessimistic screed on the irremediable suffering of the outcasts and losers of society.

>Knowledge always refers in the last instance to death, and it is here that the hunger for transcendence lurks, because the meaninglessness of our existence demands sublimation. We disappear into the darkness of history. The facticity of conscious being changes nothing in this regard.

Basically anything from the late 1800s through early 1900s? Or anything with the tag existentialism.

Enemy of the people or most Ibsen has that theme. Strindberg is largely the same. Kafka, naturally. Hamsun has a lot of that feeling too, from his first book(Hunger) through his later works(Growth of the soil). Honestly, most Scandinavian literature is pretty steeped in this sort of thing.

Are you particularly looking for cases in which the protagonist can't act on their views, or cases where they do act out and either succeed / fail?

Honestly branding yourself with the "incel" tag is about the worst thing you can do to mindset

That said, The Temple of the Golden Pavilion

À rebours

when you need to gem the fuck out of some tortoise's shell

>> No.10973644

A Rebours will provide you the solution at the end too; then as you follow des Esseintes becoming Durtal through La Bas, En Route, The Cathedral, and L'Oblat.

Note that none of these characters are incel. They just get sick of women, and in turn sick of banging hookers. Whore ennui.
