What does /lit/ think about the use of adderall and other stimulants?

Many authors throughout the 20th century used amphetamine-based products. Why is that?

I mean adderall is usually prescribed to people with ADD (read: people who have trouble paying attention) so if you don't have ADD and take it you're going to be focused like a fucking super human and your productivity will go through the roof.

Just make sure you don't focus on the wrong thing.
