my hand waves in the air to the right
stirring another face that floats there
it does everything it can not to dissipate
resulting in its change

my finger dips into its cheek
circling the interior paste
moving what belongs at the top
straight to the bowels of its chin

my arm drops and the left hand begins
something formed from nothing air
palpable now that it's been noticed
those eyes from my childhood closet now watch over me
