Is this still a thing? Reading 4 chapters a week starting from Wednesday Mar. 28?

i would be up for buying it and starting a bit late, but you should really get a discord together otherwise it will fall apart 100%

Honestly I highly doubt that anyone on /lit/ has the commitment to stick with a reading group.

>> No.10928587

>>10927148
I agree, especially if there are frequent chapters that are the length of chapter 2

At this pace people will either end up racing ahead or failing to fully connect with the text because they are limited to one or two short sessions a week.

I'm so fucking busy all the time.
I worked 60 hours this week, and not idle desk-sitting hours either. I have relatives constantly bugging me to do things for them, I just bought an 80's car and work on that is consuming most of my evenings.

Most people in /lit/, and myself at other times in my life, can spend time reading ten chapters in a week whereas I have no idea whether ill make time to read this week or whether ill spend the combined three hours i get to myself doing other thing instead like shitposting on /lit/

Counted 14 active readers in the first thread that 404'd

The first week is 4 chapters, and then I think the consensus was to double it to 8. (78 total?)

I haven't finished it before so im gonna read along with the threads, but if you aren't used to reading pynchon his general style can be difficult and especially the pastiche style of M&D is a bit different. It's Pynchon's insert, the learned doggo. Same with ATD--the doggo just sits, observes, reads his novels that were the direct inspiration for the prose styling of the book.

I read it years ago, and while I don't remember much of it, what I do remember was the author talking about how the book was written like movie. Specifically by incorporating panning shots, flashbacks, jump cuts, and the like. Might be something interesting to read alongside M&D, though there will definitely be spoilers.
