Most poems do nothing for me. Is it because I have Aspergers? I wish I could feel something from it but I can't.

No one likes poetry. People just pretend to so as to feel superior to others and pretend they’re aware of some deeper knowledge and richer appreciation of arts. Read “good” poetry from the last ten years, it’s the most stupid pretentious shit.

No you must feel the same as the author. SO when zou want to understand a love poem zou should be at love or you wont probably get it

>> No.10899469

Most of poetry is actuqally deep that means it is philosophical. If zou dont care about philosophz you probably wont get it

no, poetry is just prose for lazy people and presumptuous no-talents who can't create beutiful lyrical passages using proper sentence structure and grammatical conventions.

I think your problem is self-evident anonkun

There is almost no good poetry from the last ten years. There is a lot, however, from the 16th and 17th centuries. Ozymandias by Shelly, Shakespeare's sonnets, and plenty others.

I know this is bait, but for any anon that may take this even a little bit serious, this is probably the stupidest opinion you cam have regarding literature.

Only the famous ones are any good. If it's not musical or organized then it's probably garbage. Frost and Poe kept it simple, musical, and descriptive.

Can we agree most contemporary poet circles are all bunk though? Like if it's more than one page then it can't be good

Michael C. Ford's take:
>They start churning out so many bad poets
>That people start thinking that there are more bad poets
>Than there are bad anything else.

Try saying them out loud

>> No.10903078

find the music in it. find a poem and just repeat a line out loud... pretend you're casting some sort of spell or something. Think that they're just sounds that somehow managed to be formulated into this little tidbits that actually mean some little image, some little distillation of reality...

It's really fucking magical, anon.
