Phillip Dwyer’s biography of Napoleon is rad.

“The Fatal Shore” by Robert Hughes is a wonderfully entertaining history of convict Australia. Not pulpy, but doesn’t skirt around the weird stuff either.

I’m in the same boat. Trying to get into reading more history books, such as Romanovs, 1493, Ghost Wars, and The Dead March. Any recommendations?

Not new, but Mauve is interesting. An intersection of fashion, history, and science.

Magic: History, Theory, Practice - Dr. Ernst Schertel, annotated by Hitler.

No joke, it's actually a good read. Goes double if you're in2 German and get the scanned College upload. Adolfo's thoughts are looped, so if you're at all knowledgeable or experienced with critical discernment and philosophy, you'll get to see how and where his thinking falls apart.
