Authors that committed suicide for anything other than the finishing touch to a failed coup d'etat should not be read, thought about, or remembered.

I'm guessing Mishima's fits this criteria? OP's final term's inarguable anyway (it could have been any other novel written in the 20th century).

I mean, can you think of any other authors of stature who committed suicide after attempting to take over their government?

all of those are just imperialist bullshit

I'm in the process. One down, two to go. Starting Ulysses tomorrow. Probably a couple books off from IJ. So far I think you guys have shit taste, even though I liked GR immensely. It must be because you all don't know much other than books and so you're taste gets all fucked up and you need books to overload your system, kind of like junkies really.... You're ramped up to the Max and you need your sweet, sweet fix of, Oh man, is that reference suppose to be saying this. You're basically a bunch of the worst kind of snobs who miss out on the supremacy of simplicity, like a five course meal vs. a well cooked egg. Complexity is not supreme in and of itself. But maybe I'll be convinced.

Nope.
