So are these the best historical fiction there is?
There is romance, camaraderie among bros, pretty detailed battles and really good world building and I frankly haven't read any other book series that came so close to having everything I want from a story.
Anyway if I want to read something close to this what could you recommend me?

Dude, this is one of my favorite series;
Try out Cornwell`s Grail trilogy too; not as epic, but has some of the same elements;
I also loved Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield, about the 300 of Sparta;
I also read Musashi more or less on the same age as pic related, and it`s amazing; detailed battles/duels, some romance, great characters and all; hope this helps!
Also Derfel best bud of all buds

Cornwell is pretty great, read his Saxon and Grail series too

very different setting but James Clavell's Asian saga has pretty much all the same attributes you mentioned, they are great if you want some Asian historical fiction.

Also The Accursed Kings series by Maurice Druon. It's basically a historical Game of Thrones about Philippe IV of France and his children, fun stuff.

Definitely read Azincourt, possibly his best book desu.

Isent the saxon series like... "Eternal"?
I read it that it won't have a ending, just so he can keep publishing in the scenario.

I read eleven of the 13 Peninsular Campaign Sharpe's over the summer and thoroughly enjoyed them. Read them on the heels of the Hornblower and Bolitho nautical series which are almost as good.
