am i correct in my understanding that families who descend from gods have a free get-out-of-mortality card from birth? for example, emperor akihito has already achieved immortality since he descends from amaterasu.
also, what would have to happen for some god to send a new divine family down to earth?

In a traditionalist framework, the mingling of gods and men would only happen at the beginning of a new cycle, or a new beginning after some great calamity to put it another way.
