I was hoping someone would post this. Reading this pairs well with Stoner. Two sides to the spectrum.

Made me realize how extraordinary our minds and existence are and how much goes on in a single day.

Notes From the Underground made me realize there was something wrong with myself. Meditations told me how to fix it, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra gave me a goal for once I dug myself out of the pit.

Henry.

He allowed me to articulate cynical observations I had about people and the world, but could never find the words to express.

Read this and Naked Lunch around the same time when I was 15. They really illuminated the oddness of the social rituals and norms I had grown up with. I remember going to mass with my parents at the time and, instead of my usual boredom, I found things fascinating, but in a disconnected way. But it also exacerbated a pre-existing outsider self-image.
