Nah. I've already got about 200, and assuming I live to be 60, reading 50 books a year, that's at least 2000. And 50 books a year isn't difficult.

>> No.1078529

>less

>> No.1078530

Is that a challenge?

>> No.1078536

>>1078530
I think it is.

And I'm going to win.

>> No.1078554

i would caution to say I'm well over 800-900, and I'm 24.

I can finish a 600 page novel in about 5 hours of reading, and retain it. Teachers did all kinds of tests on me as a kid, I'm some kind of speed-reader freak apparently.

Most summers before I left school I'd finish a novel a day. During the school year, usually 3-4 a week. I rarely watch TV.

Now that I'm a bit older, I don't have as much time, but I do finish 1-2 a week dependent on the length and difficulty.

>> No.1078574

>>1078554

That's even worse. You're going to run out of books before long.

>> No.1078579

>>1078574

doubtful.

I've been known to enjoy some books so much to reread them 20 times.

If I run out, i can just start over.

>> No.1078800

No. I'm 19 years old and have already read more than 400 books eventhough I don't remember all of their names anymore

>> No.1078808

Who cares? I'm not trying to rack up books like they're some sort of token to be acquired.

>> No.1078821

>>1078526

yeah 40 x 52 = 2080, so if you read one book a week you can easily beat 2000.

>> No.1078822

Joke's on you. I don't even read. Books are for fags anyway.

>> No.1078827

Eh, even if I do read less than 2000, I wouldn't much care. It's quality over quantity, for me at least.

>> No.1078836

Quality over quantity, boys.

It's Quality*Quantity

>> No.1078912

I don't care either. I have a to read list that, although constantly increasing in size, is not too huge (always on a 20 books maximum) and I read to increase the value of my life, not my e-peen. I don't read to brag about how many books I've read. I read because I enjoy reading. I won't read Ulysses just because it's a classic, but I will read it if I enjoy Joyce's style. I've read all books from Kafka, Camus and Saramago, but no books from Aldous Huxley. I just take it easy.

>> No.1078918

In the month of August I've read:

All 6 of jim butcher's aleran codex
PKD Ubik
Tom Robbins' fierce invalids home from hot climates
Suzanne collins hunger games triology (already downloaded and read mockingjay)
Malazaan Toll the Hounds
Heinlein's The moon is a harsh mistress

so that's 13 books. this is an average month for me and i'm 27 years old. i'm probably at 2000 or will get there in a couple years.

i also have a live-in gf, full time job, and go on at least one hiking trip every two weeks. so fuck all yall.

trilogy :(

>> No.1078921

I have read 288 books so far. Not nearly as many as I would like. Stupid college eating all my time.

...I keep a list.

>> No.1078925

If I can read a thousand I'll be happy. I don't think I've even broken a hundred yet, so I had better get to it.

>> No.1078931

HEY GUYS. I'M GOING TO BRAG ABOUT HOW GOOD MY LIFE IS ON 4CHAN.

>> No.1078942

I've already read more than that. Not a fag though, I don't count them

>> No.1078943

I don't think when I will lie on my deathbed looking back on my life (if death will be so kind as to allow me this comfort) I will feel bad for not reading 2000 books.

>> No.1078951

I read approx 3 books a week, I started reading at this pace when I was 7, I'm almost 19 now.
So 52*3*12=1872

I beg to differ.

>> No.1078956

>>1078931
it's true, i also have time for bragging, in between losing at HoN games

>> No.1079070

It took me less than a year to read a hundred... I can beat this number of 2000

>> No.1079119

You guys read short-ass books.

Oh yeah?

>> No.1080531

The last couple of years, I really haven't read that much, thanks to university, and my interest sliding more towards music. Still, counting all the books I've read I get to 150 quite easily, and probably more, and that's excluding a period in my life of a couple of months where basically all I did was reading fanfiction, most with a book-worthy length (don't ask, odd story). 2000 doesn't sound like an impossible number to me.

>> No.1080536

I read a lot of goosebumps as a child so hahahha I'm closing in.
