Post-Rock
Classical
other shit without lyrics.
but I only listen to music while reading to block out other noise.

>> No.1076586

Mostly stick to post-rock and other instrumental shit like Buckethead with some ambient things thrown in too.

Regular music can be okay if I can get myself into a book enough.

Ambient, post rock, jazz

And yeah, Buckethead actually has a few albums that are much more somber (Electric Tears and Colma) so he's not incredibly wrong or anything.

Well I'll tell 'ye, OP. Nothing-- and I mean nothing-- goes better with a good novel than the minimalism of Erik Satie, preferably his gymnopedies and gnossiennes. With that said, William Basinski's The Disintegration Loops is a close second.

That is horrible.
At first it wasn't so bad, kinda like something simple a high school band would play. It was nicely chilled; not bad as background noise when reading.
Those vocals though... I mean, wtf is that about? The guy sounds like he has Down's syndrome and maybe put back one too many beers. Does this really qualify as singing to pop rockers these days?
