Sorry if this isn't /lit enough, but I just tripped yesterday for the first time in a few years, and the first time since I got into actual respectable philosophy.

Seeing how psychedelics put you into an infantile state of mind and remind you of how your perception is just a series of choices and paths down the road that have become fixated and repressed into unconsciousness, I'm wondering how technology and the commonly perceived crisis-of-the-modern-era fits into the whole trip experience. Is there an actual, numenal crisis occurring here in the present day, or somewhere along the line, did I make choices wrt my ego that have set me up to believe that this is so?

Is there anything by Ellul or similar writers that would be insightful in this regard?

This is way to smart for the average /lit/ poster. You'd be better off asking somewhere else.

Heidegger took LSD I believe but never wrote about it. I too am instead in a Kantian account of tryptamines.

>numenal
The noumenal is completely devoid of any meaning what so ever. This should be obvious from Kant. That doesn't mean there isn't an actual crisis with pragmatic grounding, of course to call something a crisis is an ethical call, I say from a moral standpoint, yeah there is a clear crisis, though I'm not sure what you mean by crisis, guenon?, Don't know him. I mean an ecological crisis, my use of ecological has a broader meaning than you might think "ecological" to be.
You didn't "make choices with your ego", you used semiotics to develop this world that we live in starting from scratch some 3 billion years ago.
So for your final question, it would be the later.
Anyways this is what you should be asking questions about.
>how your perception is just a series of choices and paths down the road
I suggest you get get introduced to biosemiotics, then use that to understand Peirce
Ps, lsd is one of the best. Also I know the secret behind mystical experiences.

Maybe because it's hard to figure out exactly what the hell he is talking about.
