What do I need to read before I understand Dr Seuss's great work?

>great work
He was not so great. He pulled fake words out of his ass to get his text to fit the meter. In a few instances he totally shit the bed and added redundant words, thereby ruining meter that he had otherwise properly written. There are very few well written children's books. I often use Lady Gregory's plays for the purpose. The Jackdaw, Spreading the News - now that is some good stuff.

The Cat in the Hat is a subversive piece of shit attempting to convince kids to shirk the norms of society and rebel against the authority of their parents.

What if your parents are bad role-models?
