This series may have been written for children with too much exposition, but it featured incredible set pieces, genuine wit, gripping plots/substories and the overall premise was simply awesome.

Does this book ape any other sci-fi novel before it? Opinions on the series?

also yay flood detection mixed with captcha.

Whole thing fell apart when they skipped to having their kids as protagonists. Never recovered, in my view.

That said, the first two were stunning.

Wren was only the protagonist for like 50% of Infernal Devices, at least.

Also Tom was a kid in Mortal Engines...

On an unrelated note, why the hell wasn't I informed of this?

"In April 2010, it was confirmed that WETA is working on the adaption. Peter Jackson is to be both director and producer, and the film will be shot in stereoscopic 3D.

According to IMDB, the movie may be coming out in 2012."

They had better make the cities fucking unbelievable.
