Is there a case to be made that some philosophers' work is painted by their mental illness?
For example, do you believe that Kierkegaard's philosophy is a result of depression?

Depression is not a mental illness for God's sake. Of course a person's state is going to affect their behaviour.

His depression was a result of philosophy.

what a pointless way of considering things.

that just shows how limited those categories are to judge the experience that is being manifested in his writings.

you are like a meteorologist trying to understand a poem that uses rain as an image.

Is that any way to go about seriously engaging with these thinkers and their arguments? Fucking idiot

Why do you take such issue with this? Obviously a thinker's mental state will affect their thought, as >>10681895
already said

That is a shallow reading of his works. Try again
