I have to read this book for school, and I can't fucking stand it. So tell me /lit/, what is your official tactic for reading books you can't fucking bear.

inb4 stop reading.

I do not have this problem because I am a bear.

Tell yourself that when you finally finish reading you get to throw it against the wall as hard as you can.

The Road is a pretty quick read so you should count yourself lucky.

Pic related.

It's not a long or dense book, just plough through it. Worst comes to the worst, torrent a cam of the movie and read up the cliffnotes on the book. I got an A in a test on Tom Sawyer's Schooldays doing that.

pretty much this. i'm not familiar with the book, but with the books i had to read during high school i basically looked up film adaptations that followed the book closely and then used sparknotes to supplement the films. i passed all of my tests easily.

however, i wouldn't recommend it. i cheated myself out of reading some great books that i went back and read after i started university.

I wish I could've studied The Road when I was in school, but it would've been impossible because I finished before it was actually written. ;/
