The notion was a fail honestly.
I'm disappointed by how anons didn't make any effort, they always brag how smart they are and they especially make borgers threads and replies and references, but when it is time to say and write something constructive everyone is silent or shitposts. I'm a brainlet and I wanted to read some patrician reviews, analysis and explanations of every short story...
Truly a pretentious board.

There were just not enough anons to regularly contribute. Also pretty disappointed desu.

The Form of the Sword seems to be one of the more concrete stories so far. Are both betrayals equal or is it the one who is conveying the story the one who actually matters? Why did Borges produce four different perspectives in this short story? How does Moon being a Marxist have any significance?

The gap between people who were too lazy to figure shit out on their own or ask relevant questions and those who tried to create some sort of discussion was disappointing. Hopefully people are more interested in reading Kafka.

Wouldn't make a difference.

OP from last thread, thanks for starting this. I'm happy to participate and contribute but I found myself making every third post in a desperate attempt to keep the thread from dying. If we can get more interest/keep this going long enough to attract more people I think we'll be okay.
I don't really care if you guys have good insight, I just want to read stories with you.

I have read all but two of Part One and so far my favourite is The Approach to Al-Mu'tasim. I've been trying to keep up but also have exams to tend to so I have to catch up in short bursts every once in a while or so.
The Library of Babel is overrated imo.
I couldn't understand the Quixote one maybe because I'm not Spanish?
The Lottery was okay and Tlön boring.
I hope Part Two is better.
To anons who have read all the fictions, which one is your favourite? Also, is there an annotated version?
Borges writes great, but until now most of it has felt like he's pandering to some super secret Spanish literature club.
Or maybe I'm just not smart enough to get it?

Theme of traitor and hero

I always understood it as the narrator being unable to come to terms with his betrayal and therefore he can't narrate from his own perspective because it would require admitting to his past actions.
