Beginning to get back into reading and I've been having an annoying problem while I read. I always imagine things differently than what they are supposed to be. For a while I thought that Hogwarts looked like a high school, like generic high school with some fancy stuff on it and then when I watched the movie it was a castle. Is this a common problem for others?

So? Do you feel your experience is being made any worse? Noting wrong per se with having a hyperactive imagination

No but it's kinda frustrating to see an adaptation of the book you've been reading and realize that you were imagining it all wrong.

Don't those books explicitly state that it is a castle? If so, you may have brain damage.

I think you’re the only person ever to imagine something differently to how the author envisaged it. You should be shot before your retarded genetic mutation is given the chance to spread.

Nigga what? That's failing to imagine, that's just failing to pay attention.

One of the first books I read when getting back into reading was The Illiad, I went in completely blind, knowing nothing about greek culture and when I read the name Agamemnon it striked me as middle east-ish and I figured that to be a leader of such an army you'd have to be pretty old so I imagined him like pic related, that first impression was burned into my mind and now even though I know it's utterly wrong I can't think of him in any other way unless I'm focusing really hard on not doing it.
