Okay /lit/

Who would win in a economics fight?

>> No.1064902

Neither because economics is a phony science.

>> No.1064906

>>1064902
that doesn't mean you can't win at it
but i would say neither, because Marx isn't in that pic.

Chomsky is not an economist, not a fair fight. Find a real left wing economist.

>> No.1064939

I'm not even sure what specific kind of economy Chomsky is in favor of.

What >>1064942 means to say is voluntary communist, he's just trying to make it sound less ridiculous.

Left-libertarian, right? So he likes what, decentralized socialist economies and voluntary communes and stuff like that?

>> No.1064958

>>1064952
no, chomsky likes institutions like MIT signing his checks and corporations printing his books and he likes everything the way it is, because if it were different, he would have no value. chomsky is a meta-economist or a rabble rouser.

Friedman quite obviously given Chomsky himself has admitted that he doesn't understand economics. Also, Chomsky is kind of a dumb guy when debate turns logical means-to-ends as opposed to vaguely pomo left-ethical. Vernon Smith or David Friedman would destroy them both however.

Kropotkin (though relatively insightful for his time) is objectively fail, samefag.

He did commit a common conceptual error in failing to recognize that natural selection is an argument about advantages to individual organisms, however they may struggle. The result of struggle for existence may be cooperation rather than competition, but mutual aid must benefit individual organisms in Darwin’s world of explanation. Kropotkin sometimes speaks of mutual aid as selected for the benefit of entire populations or species – a concept foreign to classic Darwinian logic (where organisms work, albeit unconsciously, for their own benefit in terms of genes passed to future generations).

Marx is outdated and flawed as hell. At least read modern Marxist thought.
