/lit/, i feel so low today. Recomend me some short stories to cheer me up or sink me lower into the squalid well of self defricating confusion and paranoia.

Opinions of a clown by Heinrich Boll

>> No.1064353

Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger, addresses what you may be feeling and simultaneously feeds the ego in a good way. plus a good read and food for thought

self defricating. wtf is that?

You mean deprecating.

You're looking for 'deficating'

yes Op, now that I've possibly made you feel worse, perhaps you will enjoy the story "The Snows of Mount Kilimanjaro" by Hemingway.

>> No.1064378

I think he means "deficiting" as he feels discounted.

This post probably should contain the Spelling Nazi image because it kept on referring to spelling corrections.

Speaking of 'deficating', Ellison's eight word title alludes 'to shit'. Did the man know how to literally make shit grabbing, or did he? Subtle old bastard.

I highly recommend The Dandelion Girl.
It's my favourite short story (about 16 pages, if I recall it correctly). Don't expect high literary allegories and DEEP stuff, it's a cute little story that's amazingly written.

I uploaded it once for /lit/, so here.
