I wouldn't rape your face with your dick, faggot. If you can read, why do you need "entry level" books? Requesting entry level books implies that you haven't quite mastered the whole "reading" concept yet. Wanting to read an "engaging" book is one thing...that's fine. But why does it need to be "thrilling"? It sounds like you just want to be entertained with minimal effort on your part. Go watch Pearl Harbor and get the hell out of /lit/.

uh..thanks?
It's a very simple request however. C'mon /lit/, all I ask is a couple of examples to get the ball rolling..

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU ANY SHORT STORY COLLECTION FROM RAY BRADBURY OR WILLIAM GIBSON. ALSO THE CATCHER IN THE RYE AND THE FICTION ROBERT ANTON WILSON.

CHEERS.

I'd start with Dan Brown if you're looking for thrilling and engaging. Or Stephen King.

>I'd start with Dan Brown

Leave /lit/ and never come back. Even King gets supporters willing to defend him here, Dan Brown is indefensible.

Honestly, if you want to get back into light reading, just browse the 'teen fiction' section at your local library. That's usually simple enough to wrap your mind around if you're just getting into it. If you want to press onward and deeper, try researching a few more literary terms, coming to grips with recognizing symbolism, and call /lit/ back in the morning.

Crime & Punishment is the reason I dig what the kids these days call "English bullshit."

Now, I be all up in that James Joyce and William Faulkner, and shit.

Also, I recommend looking into the works of Hermann Hesse, Ivan Turgenev, and Kurt Vonnegut.

Also, you can't go wrong with The Grimm Brothers, The Arabian Nights, and Sinbad and all the other stories people think were part of The Arabian Nights.

whoever thinks that the Count of Monte Cristo belongs on the same tier as Don Quixote has no hope. I'd really like to hear someone try to defend this.

>> No.1058381

I would second Arabian Nights. Don't get any shitty abridged version though. I have a nice hard cover I would recommend you if I could find it.

After that, try Moby Dick. I love Moby Dick. Once I got used to the writing style and narrative voice, I got fucking sucked in to that shit, and it was INTENSE.

Its a tier list. And you just commented on it.

>> No.1058514

The fuck is an "entry level"?

My closest guess is "The Cat in the Hat" and "Curious George".

Or "The Little Prince", because you hipster faggots seem to suck up anything that has illustrations that you can mangle up, xerox, and tattoo on your underdeveloped vegan arms.

I fucking despise you.
And Crystal Castles suck. You would know this if you had any culture.
