it's pointless and dishonest, they'll just weasel out of justifying their actual views by using memes like "common sense", "pleasure", "hidden utilitarian equations", "knowledge is good because it allows us to...", "truth is good because you can survive in situation X", and some other shit that makes no sense and has no substance except sounding vaguely reassuring or scientific, or introduces assumptions silently without acknowledging what they are doing
