Is all literature a form of attention-seeking? And if this is so, would it mean that all literature is inherently slanted, biased towards the energetic and the extraverted? A shy man won't write a novel, nor would a humble man. There will never be a novel written by a furtive man, only a novel about furtiveness written by someone who isn't truly so. Argument could be raised for the power of empathy which permits the extravert to understand his meek friends and translate their truth, but this is an experience similar to a flea writing a novel from the dog's perspective. An even more grim implication is that the world never saw a novel written by a genius - true genius, the one who stands head and shoulders above the rest. He simply didn't deem it worthwhile to submit his ideas to intellectual ants.

Sounds like a lot of
>projecting

Are you this genius man? Seems like you empathize with this "genius man" more than the people who have friends. Maybe you'd have friends if you weren't such an intellectual ant who drips with narcissism.

What about private memoirs that a man used to collect his thoughts that were later discovered?

Nothing in my post suggested any form of personal involvement, but your pointless attack does. Projecting much, friend?

I don't think that's his implication because he lost the right to declare that the moment he made that post

Holy Shit Diction, Batman! Look at the guy who's learning to write!

I disagree merely sending the letter can actualize or prove an earnest desire to connect that an unsent letter or at least a letter that was purposely unsent can never posses

All of my "posts" on /lit/ are unsent letters. I don't have the patience to argue with children anymore but I don't want to just leave one post and abandon it like anyone who replied to me "defeated" what I said, so I just type for 20 minutes and then close the window before pressing Submit.

Well, here's one for the ages I guess.

Nonsense, if there was no desire to connect why would the letter exist in the first place?
Think for five seconds

To pretend to yourself that you did have a desire when you really, truly never did. You just wanted to live with a man who would want to connect

>writes a glaringly edited post, using words like "furtive," when you could've made the same sentiment in about ten words
>can't look past your own conceptions of achievement, thinking everyone does everything for some sort of "reward" i.e attention
>ignore hoards of writers passed over, publishing companies dedicated to getting out "lost classics," writers like Fernando Pessoa
>can't see the inherent loneliness in everyone, evening seemingly extroverted people
>pretentious statements about other people
>intellectual ants
>seemingly implying you're this lonely guy, a genius whom others will never understand

Are you legit autistic? Or just a complete narcissist? Are you 15?

So you're telling me someone would want to WANT to communicate with someone, but then not actually do it?
Rather then they wanted to and simply didn't?
Ludicrous logic

Is "furtive" considered to be a big boi word now? Sorry I didn't get the memo. Is "clandestine" still okay? Just checking, so I won't sound pretentious and pompous next time

think the possibility of what OP says. this thread is full of ad hominem.
he is right. a really shy and humble man dont write a novel.

i dont know of true genius, you can be a genius of a little field like literature but a total genius i dont know what that means.

No, but it's considered absolute shit when you sprinkle it into a post with uneven tone, trying to convey a fucking thought a twelve year old would have.

His first post was ad hominem upon a made up strawman.

The idiot invited it in. Anyone can see he's full of shit and empty inside, considering how shallow his thinking about other people is.

yes, its an ad hominem if we want to talk about the "quality" of the novel. but i think he refers about the sincerity of a novel. about the first thought that makes you to write, or something.
is an interesting thought, i understand anyway if you think is shallow.
