Hey /lit/ this is my first time here and I need some help.

Can you please recommend me some books to read that would make me extremely articulate IRL.

I'm a dumbass when it comes to speaking to people. I use simple verbs, use "like" a lot, and have shit sentence structure.

Please help me, I don't want to sound stupid anymore.

Culture of Critique and Maps of Meaning. After you read these, you really don't need to read anything else.

Kant was a gigautist also noble I see him kind of like a St.Michael standing very tall against the onslaught of materialism and mechanistic explanation in defence of theism

You're suggesting Ancient Greek works to help his English speech? Those are terrible suggestions, I have to say, and it seems to me that you're merely repeating the same old "Start With The Greeks" /lit/ meme.

OP, read a few short stories from David Foster Wallace if you're interested in complex sentence structure and an intelligent conversational tone. Cormac McCarthy for beauty in simplicity. James Joyce was the greatest wordsmith of the 20th century but jumping straight into Ulysses is almost always a mistake; start with Dubliners and move to A Portrait of the Artist, note how Joyce's style changes. Fight Club if you're interested in a gritty postmodern tone. F. Scott Fitzgerald for a classier 20s style.

If all this "literary" stuff is too in-depth for you -- and don't feel bad if it is, especially if you're new to reading -- there's loads of really accessible fiction out there such as The Kingkiller Chronicles and Mark Lawrence's Broken Empire trilogy.

Good luck.

Hah, and are you Ancient Greek? My point was that in order to learn the subtleties of the English language you should be reading English literature
