I own Slow Learner but it's a smaller Windstone edition I grabbed on eBay. It's just too small to be seen correctly in the first picture unless if I have it not pushed to the back.

Started reading actual books this year. Last 3 years I almost exclusively listed to audiobooks because I downloaded them for free but started to find it difficult to find decent readings if I could find them at all. People dismiss audiobooks but they’re great for long drives and absorbing information you wouldn’t otherwise.

My books are mostly history, mythology and religion. Don’t really care for novels. I love poetry though so next year I will expand my collection also with more Eastern religion/philosophy, Roman and British history.

I’ve still got 3 books coming around Christmas time: Ancient Egyptian book of the dead, hermetica and encyclopaedia of psychoactive plants (bought with free money from bitcoin turning $10 into $160).

Not inherently, but there is plenty wrong with some of them. I once saw bookcase that was almost entirely B&N leatherbounds, and one of them was Da Vinci Code & Lost Symbol in one volume.

Top shelf - far right 2 are Barnes and Noble leather-bounds I got as a gift, the Paradise Lost you can get on amazon and in bookshops its the arcturus one, the next 4 are everymans library, Dorian Gray is Penguin Classics clothbound, the Augustus book is a 100 year old copy so idk check ebay, playboy and animal farm are old paperbacks.
Bottom shelf - Mythology is the new hardcover, maus is standard, Tintin is the hardcover collection, soundings is original 80s copy, art of war is penguin classics I think, and yeats is Macmillan edition.

For collectors editions of books I'd say check Easton Press and Franklin's for leather-bound versions. As >>10418231 pointed out Folio Society can be dodgy but some of their books are beautiful (the out of print Finnegans Wake for example) so do some research if you're gonna get them. Otherwise search around. There are lots of places selling nice editions of classics, most are in your local bookshop or on amazon.

I didn't grow up in a technologically centered society, so I have very little dependence on the internet when I need definitions. I also participated in a lot of spelling bees when I was growing up here in the US, so I have an affinity for physical dictionaries, since I literally read them from cover to cover in order to study.

When looking for a word, I sometimes come across new ones. That's pretty much the main reason why I bother with physical dictionaries. You don't care about that anyway.
