/lit/, has it dawned on you yet that to pursue art and beauty necessarily separates you from the rest of mankind? Because art is its own community, and the one who makes himself an artist belongs to it.

Yes, but it's the same for every humane endevour, some just have more practicality. Does everyone who drives over a bridge or work in a 100 storey building need to fully appreciate the immense amount of understand and genius needed to make it work?
Also, humans love tribalism and this is just another form of it

I think yes. I feel that God has separated us from the rest of creation. In order to create, we must separate ourselves from what is humanity. It's something of a paradox, but I believe it to be true.
