Yes, it's an accessible book with an engaging (and also easily accessible) understanding of class division and oppression. It's probably best to read it in your mid-teens so you're experiencing the "starter kit" classics early on to later discover more advanced works, but really reading it at any age is fine. I thoroughly enjoyed it myself even if it is a very simplified depiction of oppression. Commonly read alongside with Animal Farm (also very enjoyable).

All of his stuff is worth reading, even the essays and articles he wrote for Partisan Review. I recommend reading Burmese Days if you finish and enjoy Animal Farm/1984. If you want his political stuff (something which I understand puts people off), you can dig yourself into Homage to Catalonia and Road to Wigan Pier. "Down and Out" is also quite good.

He's not a great great writer per se, and people shouldn't get hung up on him, but there's something about his honesty that seems endearing. Maybe he was borderline autistic who knows.

I'm the middle of him reading...a book and it's really boring, I already know the ending so it's a bit dull. I don't regret reading it but it can be a bit depressing, but it's nice for me to read a story where the main characters aren't good people like most childrens and YA books.

incredibly important book. basically laid out the vernacular for anti-authoritarianism, and concepts like doublethink cant really be defined in a summary.
Just don't think that reading it makes you understanding of Orwell as a person or gives you a single convenient ruler by which to measure politics as a whole.
