The nastiness on the /lit/ chatroom has gotten out of control. I would advise everyone to stop going there or when they do go there try to practice some common civility. /lit/ is supposed to be known as a nice board and I think that the chatroom is ruining that reputation.

Norman, is this because I called you a cunt? But then I apologized, and I invited you to join me on my magic rainbow.

You can (and do) just proxy around it again. Just stop playing music and soundboards over the mic.

Non of this pertains to literature:
[0:21] isabellehuppert: Why not?
[0:21] jacob: drinking is baaad
[0:21] isabellehuppert: Well, then I guess I'm a bad, bad girl.
[0:21] gone: >her face when
[0:22] jacob: Bad girls get spanked... so... go get spanked. Have Aphrodite help you.
It is like this hours on end.

This does not surprise me in the least.

A few years ago I was an /x/phile and we decided to start an IRC for /x/. After a rush of activity the first week or so, things died down and a core group of about 10 or so regulars were all that was left. Beyond the first few days of the IRC existing, it broke down into nothing but completely off topic conversations, drama, and A LOT of venting sexual frustrations to each other awkwardly. It became rather rare that any of us would talk about anything /x/ related. The core group of people stayed more or less together for nearly a year before the IRC gradually fell totally silent and empty and died a quiet lonely death. I do have one friend that I made in that IRC and whom I still keep in frequent contact with.

That is what you all have to look forward to with your /lit/ chat. Have fun.
