Has anyone gotten their copy yet?

Reviews are starting to trickle in, here's the WSJ: https://archive.fo/FvYJ5

Apparently they couldn't fit the appendix essays and just put them on a website instead, kinda disappointing.

>This achievement is amplified by more than 40 appendix essays, all commissioned by Mr. Raaflaub and several written by him, addressing all sorts of literary, military and biographical questions. The amplitude of these essays is such that the volume prints only four essential ones and directs the reader to a website for the others. The dimensions of the book simply could not accommodate all the knowledge it seeks to convey.

I agree, it seems ridiculous to post the thirty-five of the forty essays on their website. If anything they should have collected the essays in a separate book released alongside this one. Now, that being said, I'm still incredibly stoked for my copy to arrive.

Can you show an example of the maps or whatever you think is most useful. Trying to decide whether to put out for these editions or get a cheaper one with just the text. Thanks.

Just grab them from libgen and you can look through them to your heart's content.

The Landmark books go one sale every once in a while I think. I got mine for 25$ a piece.

I've only read Herodotus so far, but I found the maps very useful.

>mfw I got the hardcover Landmark Arrian for 12 at my local bookstore and hardcover Thucydides for 16 online

Great series and this one looks like the best of them all.

Are there any Latin editions with maps?

Do NOT get a cheaper version with just text. Learn from my mistake. If your going to devote countless hours to reading ancient texts the extra $10 is worth it.

What else is there besides maps? I can get a large ancient Mediterranean map fairly easily.

Will you be able to find these ancient cities just as easily? Many have long-since changed names.

I bought their Herodotus, Thucydides, and Xenophon for a class I had on sale for about $50 total and I've loved them. I might buy the other two for fun.
