if you want some vindication - in my novel, one of the main characters is smart and handsome and successful as an artist, but when he was a child (and a violin virtuoso) his dad dubbed over a video of him covering a famous song, adding lyrics about a gay rapist being expelled from his university.

so the now-famous boy still has a strange resentment and complex going on despite his chad-ness
