Vampires in space.

>> No.10336879

Vamps in space is as weird as it get. The Crucifix glitch is a cool idea. I wished this book was more sadistic and nihilistic.

read the sequel, echopraxia

Probably a terrifying and original spin on the familiar alien contact story.

I don't really want to. This was a book about a cool idea, but I thought the story wasn't very good and neither was the writing.

probably best to avoid echopraxia then, since the plot is worse than blindsight and the prose is just as bad. it's only really worth it if you want to see some of the ideas from blindsight extrapolated in new and more disturbing ways

It sounds interesting, but I probably wouldn't find it worthwhile in the end.

If you want some more hard sci fi, I recommend Greg Egan. I read echopraxia and had to push myself to finish it.
