Nigger of the Narcissus was even better than Darkness in my opinion

I already have Victory: an Island Tale and the Secret Agent; should I resume with what you said first?

I've never read anything bad by Conrad and his works are usually short so there's no wrong order. Secret Agent is great too

Try Nostromo

>> No.10318658

It's poor prose. Conrad never advanced past needing crutches in the form of certain set phrases and cheap platitudes imo.
Captain Marryat is much better.

Conrad's prose isn't really that good because English was like his 3rd language or so, but HoD is a great book. Very much what Nabby would call "literature of ideas" but I don't think that's a bad thing and I think Conrad's ideas are worth reading.

One of the few endings to books I'd describe as truly kino. Shakespeare's plays get a pass because of how tight the 5 Act structure is written

Not him but HoD's ending pretty much fits within the definition of the kino meme

Lord Jim is rad and also based on a true story

Someone should really adapt it

You jest but an actual adaptation of the novel in its original setting would be really cool not gonna lie
