ITT: Literary devices, styles, gimmicks, cliches, tropes, or other things used in writing that you like

Personally, I'm a sucker for anything with sufficient meta-humor or meta-analysis. I also like self-awareness and genre-awareness in fiction of all kinds. Dunno why, always have.

Also, I always seem to like things with quirky, unreliable, or otherwise atypical narration, like the ASoUE books.
