How many pages can you read in one hour?

>> No.10302266

30-40 because I am a brainlet.

>> No.10302284

Depends whether it's fiction or non-fiction. I like to take notes when reading non-fiction so I can better absorb the knowledge. So 10 pages for non-fiction, 50 pages for fiction.

The real question is what can you absorb in an hour. Anyone can read fast enough to let words quickly glide along their field of vision without actually thinking about it.

Depends. Reading Hegel is a different pace than Camus.

Continental philosophy:

5-10

Analytic philosophy:

10-20

Fiction:

50-100

How many pages can I read? 100. How many pages an I actually comprehend? 30-80 depending on if it's fiction, how large the typeface is and how dense the text is.

He's right though.
Pages vary greatly in size and density.

30-60

The fuck is up w that mouth

Also it depends what I'm reading

This makes me feel a lot better. I always see people saying they can read 50-100 in an hour, but all I read is continental philosophy, which isn't even 1/10th of that if I'm lucky. I've been reading Deleuze and can get maybe 4-6 pages per hour

>> No.10302756

>>10302266
that's actually quite a lot

>> No.10302759

Depends on the content, how hard I want to analyze it, how long it is, if I've read it before. I could read 100 pages in an hour and accomplish something, or six pages in another hour and have barely concluded a handful of points.

>> No.10302761

100-150 if I'm on a roll. I finished Bleeding Edge in 4 hours for example (just to get it over with quickly though, that book sucks lol).

>>10302259
An average of 20.
Anybody who says that they read 100 pages per hour is not paying the text proper respect.

>> No.10303164

>>10302259
20-30. It depends on the density of the text aswell as the language I'm reading.
