The use of the word "poddani" (subject) rather than "oddani" (loyal) seems weird. Might have been an inside joke/wartime trolling.

It generally makes me a bit sad to see books with handwritten and often heartfelt inscriptions at used book shops. I realize there may be numerous reasons for books ending up where they end up but still, it makes me uncomfortable.
