What are the best books of literary criticism on Homer?

Books about the Homeric question, about the techniches and style of the Iliad and Odissey, about the story of the time, etc.

op, I love the Iliad because of the Julian Jaynes book on it (doesn’t directly answer your question)
if you want more info on Jaynes, just ask
also love the woodcutter Baskin illustrations, fat men, ready fo the unbelievable war

It's more appreciation than criticism, but I rather enjoyed Eva Brann's Homeric Moments. A good place to start, at any rate.

The Singer of Tales by Albert Lord even tho 3/4s of it isn’t even about Homer.
