The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a nice little book

>> No.10252618

Stop reading just to have read something, anon. It's better to read one book you genuinely enjoy than forcing yourself to indulge in books you hate

This one is good
Old man and the Sea is the obvious one
Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Johnathan Livingston Seagull
Of mice and Men
Or read some plays

I recommend binging on some Greek tragedies. They are short and count towards completing the canon, as well.

The Hellbound Heart, Barker. Source material for the Hellraiser franchise. Fun little read.

I've been meaning to re-read it (second lifetime read), it's been sitting on my shelf for the past six years or so, just waiting for me. This is one that you can literally do in one sitting.

Reading the eBook now, it's great. The character is an invisible autismo knight who is anal about rules and bureaucracy.

Get some of the Penguin Black Classics. They're cheap and great for getting a taste of an author. The Rudyard Kipling one got me into his other works.
