How can I get encyclopedic knowledge?
When I was kid I knew a lot about dinosaurs, biology and the human body. Also space and planets. Of course the this was more of a categorical knowledge, not really specific and very basic, because I was a kid. But then adolescence came and I got depressed and pretty much fucked up my future and didn't care, about anything in general. I lost all that knowledge and I'm afraid I may have even lost the ability to absorb things like I used to.

Get the basics:
>a history of your country
>basic knowledge of western philosophy
>an economics 101 book

I would recomend the Very Short Introduction series by Oxford. Some can be very bland, but the one I've read are pretty good for a novice.

Notice when you're curious about things throughout the day and look up topics you'd like to learn more about. If you're ever in a situation where you don't have an answer or the knowledge to explain something, remember to research it later. Pursue tangents. You also need to develop a good intuition for sources. In general, academic journals/publishing houses will have better info than the popular press. For scientific papers you can use sci hub to bypass paywalls if you don't have access through a school.

Read the basics, but only for subjects you're actively interested in at the time. You won't enjoy yourself if you're trying to slog through an econ 101 book because you think you should. It's OK to work backwards from topics you actually find interesting. You can fill in the basics when you encounter stuff that's over your head, or if you can tell you need more context to fully understand the topic at hand. Sometimes for dense books it can be helpful to set goals, but in general you shouldn't have to force yourself to learn.

Try to learn because you like it, not because you're scared of being ignorant.

The only correct answer:
Get a dictionary of your native language. Search every entry on google, take notes and look at pictures and videos. Or I don't know, read a lot of fucking books? Classics, psychology, history of religions, biology, just stop wasting time.
