>Finnegans Wake is an amalgamation of puns executed in dreamlike English, and it is difficult not to describe these as frustrated and incompetent... Jules Laforge and Lewis Carroll have played this game with better luck.

So, why /lit/ meme this book so much?

I really wish you wouldn't think this way and just give it a chance. You're not supposed to fully understand the meaning as you read, it's supposed to feel infinitely meaningful. You can still piece together the narrative and find the book hilarious and breath-taking
