Kek, no. The only reason to actually *hate* Reddit is if you're an autistic socially reclusive retard who lives and breathes the Internet to the point that you identify and define yourself through websites you use. As already stated it's quite good when it comes to factual topics like science, tech or to some degree history (and no, I don't mean /r/futurology and other preteen sections). Particularly compared to burning garbage dumps like /g/ with three and a half sane posters dispersed among five generals or /sci/ which is nowadays freshman homework and pseudoscience central with 0.99(9) competent contributors or /his/ which is really just /pol/ with more maps and Paradox games. Not to mention that once your honeymoon newfriend period ends you will discover that cookie-cutter edgy memetexts, autistic contrarianism and hiding behind ten layers of irony for fear of not getting enough (You)votes are really not any more interesting than shitty pun chains or opinion circlejerking or karmawhoring. Both sites have different strengths and again to care about tribal web-allegiances instead of what little value can be extracted from both is just phenomenal cretinism. Use the fucking info they provide instead of substituting social life with them, brainlet.

r/askphilosophy is decent. There are several professionals who write responses there that are great. There are a lot of mediocre responses as well but it's better than anywhere else I've seen on the internet for that sort of thing.

r/badphilosophy was started by a bunch of friends to shitpost with each other, that is why there aren't any formal rules. It has been flooded by reddit normies who expect it to be like the other badacademic subs though, and by complaining about the sub you out yourself as a normie.

r/philosophy is as bad as everyone says.

Can we all just agree that /his/ is the most reddit board, and therefore the worst? I go there sometimes and it's like I'm on a subreddit. I think I've seen people there unironically complain about not being able to downvote unpopular opinions. /his/ is a new board so I suppose it makes sense that it's full of tumors. /lit/ has a large enough core membership that redditors can't completely change the board culture through sheer numbers alone.

I find it really telling that people somehow think critical thinking can be taught within the current system of education just by declaring it as a discrete subject separate from the rest of the system, without changing anything about the current education system, ideologically or materially.
