I have recently become quite intrigued by the history of Rome. What is a good list of literature I should read to learn it thoroughly? Movie suggestions are also appreciated.

Well Plutarch writes about people from Romulus (8th century BC) to Galba (AD 1st century)
Caesar writes only about his own campaigns.
It's hard to put the topics chronologically. You can Google the writers to see when they lived.
